
Yesterday, we had our send-off for our Cheerleaders. They are headed to states this morning with an escort from our Sheriff's Department and Fire Department! Good luck girls! You make us #VikingProud

**STAFF SPOTLIGHT** Every Wednesday we are going to shine the spotlight on one of our staff members. This Wednesday it is Mrs. Ashley Wilkins-Franks. Mrs. Wilkins-Franks has been teaching in Grant County for 7 years. Mrs. Wilkins-Franks says what she is most proud of is being able to work with the LSIC and business partners to institute the testing rewards program. Mrs. Wilkins-Franks says "The thing I like most about working at PHS is that the faculty works together for the betterment of the students." Our Varsity Basketball team took some time this morning to donate some gifts towards Toys for Happiness. We are proud of these young men to be giving back to the community. #VikingProud


**STAFF SPOTLIGHT** Every Friday we are going to shine the spotlight on one of our staff members. This Friday it is Ms. Faith Smith. Ms. Smith has been teaching in Grant County for 4 Years but teaching for a total of 5 years. Ms. Smith is most proud of the work that she has done with our music program and how it has grown each year. Ms. Smith says that the best part of working at PHS is the connections and impacts that she is able to make with each of the students and staff. PHS is lucky to have you Ms. Smith! #VikingProud

Ms. Carmen's Spanish Classes as well as staff expressed what they were thankful for before we left for Thanksgiving break! Various staff and students were able to fill out a feather to add to a turkey to show what they are most thankful for! #VikingProud

Mrs. Shreve has been teaching for a total of 9 years, with 3 being in Grant County. Mrs. Shreve's most interesting project that she has worked on has been the Virtual Reality Virtual Career lab for the students. Mrs. Shreve says her favorite part about working in PHS is "that everyone is willing to help each other. And serving 3rd lunch to help out the kitchen staff." PHS is lucky to have you Mrs. Shreve!

Ms. Propst says the most interesting project that she has worked on was publishing the Viking Log, the school newspaper. She also enjoys working with seniors and staff on graduation requirements and activities. Ms. Propst says that what she likes most about working at PHS is that "I enjoy working with the students and seeing them succeed. Probably the best experience is talking to graduates and hearing them say they were prepared for work or college." PHS is lucky to have you Ms. Propst!

Student Council is holding a winter clothing drive. Please consider donating gently used winter clothing. Clothing can be dropped off in a sealed plastic bag to the school or students may bring them to Mr. Colaw's room.


Today was a busy day for PHS students. Our Middle School students were able to get a preview of the Harlem Triksterz this morning, followed by our Veterans Breakfast and the "Get a Life" Program. Mrs. Porter says she is most proud of the work she did as a Biology Teacher. She was able to bring lab activities to life so students could have a more hands on approach . Mrs. Porter says" The best thing about working at PHS is the staff I get to work with everyday! " We are lucky to have you Mrs. Porter!


**STAFF SPOTLIGHT** Every Friday we are going to shine the spotlight on one of our staff members. This Friday it is Ms. Carmen Pidre- Bocardo. She has been teaching in Grant County for 6 years. Ms. Pidre-Bocardo has enjoyed working on many projects through PADLET. It allows for her classes to connect with other classes all around the world. She is currently working on a project with Austria, Bulgaria, and Spain on how the Fall is celebrated and different in these countries. Ms. Pidre-Bocardo says what she enjoys most about working at PHS is that "I like is to discover with students there is an amazing world where all of us we live , so big & so different and full of things for learning." PHS is lucky to have you Ms. Carmen Pidre-Bocardo.


Yesterday, students from SBCTC went to Martinsburg for the FBI Teen Academy. This was a great opportunity for our students to learn new skills and gain knowledge! #VikingProud
